Growing Up

This is the first set of poems I wrote between 1983 to 1990. The writing of these poems almost never happened. If it hadn’t been for the encouragement of my year 11 and 12 English teachers, I may have chosen a very different medium to express myself. The poems cover a series of reflections on what humanity thinks is important and how people treat each other. Please note that most of these early poems were written before the term politically correct was invented, so the reader will find gender specific words like “man” still used. Its not till the early 1990s that I began using gender neutral language. This occured by my second anthology.
